GTRK “Bashkortostan”: Neurologist Yulia Sidorova on International Brain Day

On the eve of the International Brain Day, pediatric neurologist Yulia Alexandrovna Sidorova from the Intelligent Neurosurgery Clinic at the V.S. Buzaev International Medical Centre was invited to the television studio of the program “Vesti. Interview” on GTRK “Bashkortostan”.

In a lively and interesting conversation, we discussed new facts about the brain’s restorative abilities, the now obsolete concept of a safe amount and type of alcohol, the benefits of classical music and the necessity of training the brain and body, and brain nutrition.

They also mentioned an important event in neuroscience in 2021: the approval of the first drug for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease, Aducanumab. The main topic of the conversation was an innovative method for treating neuropathic pain and movement disorders in Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, and dystonia, which was introduced for the first time in Russia at the V.S. Buzaev International Medical Centre   – “MRI-guideded focused ultrasound ” (MRgFUS, MRgFUS).
