Professor Naufal Shamilovich Zagidullin proudly presented the achievements of the V.S. Buzaev International Medical Centre and Bashkir State Medical University at one of the most prestigious global conferences in the field of medicine — ACC.25 in Chicago.
Breakthrough in Research: Neuroprotection and MRgFUS
Report titled “Neuroprotective and Hypotensive Effects of Ischemic Preconditioning in Treatment Using MRI-guided Focused Ultrasound” has sparked great interest in the global research community. This is the result of joint work by the team from the V.S. Buzaev International Medical Centre, BSMU, and other leading specialists, published in a leading scientific journal Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
The study demonstrated that the use of ischemic preconditioning—three short-term increases in pressure using a cuff—not only prevents an increase in blood pressure during operations using MRgFUS but also has a powerful neuroprotective effect. This discovery is of tremendous importance for the treatment of essential tremor and other conditions conducted under MRI guidance.

We are working on implementing innovative approaches in the treatment of essential tremor and other diseases using focused ultrasound.
