The Buzaev Award helps young doctors receive education

Hello, my name is Igor Buzaev. My father, Vyacheslav Stepanovich Buzaev, was a cardiac surgeon who initially performed open-heart surgeries with chest incisions. In the eighties, a new field emerged—interventional radiology—where surgeons began repairing hearts through a vessel puncture. My father was the first in the Republic of Bashkortostan to start endovascular treatments, and now almost everyone knows about stenting.

Following in his footsteps, when we saw a new surgery without any incisions, we decided to implement it first in Russia and name our center after Vyacheslav Stepanovich.

This year marks 50 years since our family began treating people. Therefore, we have established a scholarship to support the best and most talented students following in the footsteps of great doctors.

This year, we are funding residencies for the best of the best: a neurologist, a neurosurgeon, and we are also welcoming two MRI specialists to our team.

Our scholars are future leaders in medicine who are already working on innovations today. Together with them, we will create non-invasive, compassionate, and error-free medicine, solve diagnostic puzzles, and engage in research and education.
