“I still remember his eyes,” – a patient about V.S. Buzaev

I want to talk about how fate brought me together with Vyacheslav Stepanovich Buzaev. I am currently at the Buzaev Clinic. We learned about it at the RCH, where my husband was undergoing treatment, and they diagnosed him. Additional examination was needed, which they couldn’t conduct there because they didn’t have the necessary equipment. So, they suggested this clinic to me. When I heard the name Vyacheslav Stepanovich, I was, of course, very surprised that I hadn’t heard or known about this clinic, but I didn’t know anything at the time.

I then remembered the words of a philosopher, a Tibetan scholar, who was asked after a lecture why people didn’t know about his existence. And then he said, “I don’t advertise myself, but those who need me will find me themselves.” That’s how it happened. It means we needed this very clinic. The name of Vyacheslav Stepanovich Buzaev is very dear to me. He is a savior, a person who gave me life. The first was given to me by the Lord God, the second by Vyacheslav Stepanovich.

In 2004, I started coughing very severely. I experienced a spontaneous cough. I struggled with this cough for 4 months. I was hospitalized in the 6th hospital and observed in clinics. No one could give me an accurate diagnosis. They suspected cancer and tuberculosis. Already, you could say, on the brink of life and death, my son brought me to a cardiology center, where I was immediately taken for examination. I regained consciousness in the intensive care unit. As I was told later, a thrombus had detached, got stuck in the iliac vein, and from there shot small pieces, causing a pulmonary embolism, which is why I had this cough.

After some time, while still in the hospital, I found out that the operation was performed by Dr. Vyacheslav Stepanovich Buzaev. Of course, my first thought was to thank him. I was on the sixth floor, and his department was on the fifth. My son and I went down to his department before discharge. I entered the office, and of course, I was trembling like a leaf in the wind. First of all, I didn’t know what had happened to me, what this filter was, how I would live with it. I had many…

I was really hoping the doctor would explain everything to me. When I entered, I saw a large man, and I still remember his eyes. Open eyes, very stern, seeing my tense state, apparently anxious. When I explained to him that I came to thank him, he said, you know, don’t worry, don’t be afraid, you will forget about this filter, you will live a full normal life, but only if you don’t forget all the doctor’s instructions. And thanks to him, I have been living for 19 years, I raised my third grandchild, I raised a great-granddaughter, I am very grateful that he gave me this life. And I won’t be wrong if I say that it was at the cost of his own life that he gave life to patients like me.

And hearing that this is specifically Buzaev’s clinic, you know, it also instilled in us a great hope for recovery here as well. We were given a final diagnosis, where the doctor analyzed everything so thoroughly and clearly, you know, and so competently that there were no questions left. Neither about the diagnosis nor the treatment methods. And so I only had one question. How to proceed further? Rezida Maratovna explained this to me. I am very grateful to her. She explained everything to me step by step, what we should do next.

And we hope that we will overcome this disease as well. We have lived with it for about 58 years, and hopefully, God willing, we will live several more years. I want to say that this clinic will help everyone.

I hope we will also come to this clinic. I recommend it to all my friends and acquaintances. And most importantly, you know, I am proud of the dynasty, that in the person of Vyacheslav Stepanovich’s son and Dr. Rezida Galimova, they will continue the work started by the doctor with a capital letter, as I call Vyacheslav Stepanovich, bringing all his ideas and plans to life.
