Preparation for Urological Examinations

  1. Arrive with a moderately full bladder (because there is a possibility that an ultrasound examination of the bladder, kidneys, or prostate may need to be performed during the appointment). Drink 2-3 glasses of water one and a half hours before the appointment.
  2. If there are results from previous urine and blood tests, as well as protocols from earlier ultrasound studies, please bring them with you (you can have photos of them on your phone)
  3. Do not go to the bathroom for 2 hours (as you may need to have a urethral swab taken)

Preparation before Cystoscopy or Ureteral Stent Removal

Have with you a REFERRAL for cystoscopy or removal   ureteral stent, or   HOSPITAL DISCHARGE SUMMARY , where is it indicated that this procedure needs to be performed   at a specific period of time

  1. To reduce discomfort during cystoscopy or ureteral stent removal, if there are no contraindications or allergic reactions, we recommend taking the following tablets 2 hours before the procedure: Phenazopyridine 100 mg – 2 tablets.
