Dr Eustaquio Maria Onorato
Dr. Eustachio Maria Onorato is a brilliant interventional adult and pediatric cardiologist specializing in the surgical treatment of patients with congenital and structural heart pathologies.
Eustachio received a PhD ( MD) with honors at the University of Milan in Italy and at the University of Zulia in Venezuela. He completed a residency in therapy and a postgraduate program in cardiology and pediatric cardiology at the Higher Medical School of the Central University of Venezuela in Caracas. Instructor and associate professor at the Institute of Cardiology at the University Hospital of Caracas (Venezuela, 1985–1989). He also underwent additional professional training in congenital heart defect surgery in newborns at the Cardiology Department of the General Hospital of Bergamo (Italy)
Defended a postgraduate degree in radiology, completing the radiology course at the Graduate School of Medicine, University of Siena (Italy) in 1994 From 1989 to 1997, was the director Cath Lab of Centro “E. Malan” – San Donato Hospital in Milan, then held the position of Director of the Cardiology Department and Coronary Laboratory at Clinica San Rocco di Franciacorta, Brescia, Italy (1997 – 2002) in Humanitas Gavazzeni, Bergamo, Italy (2002 – 2006) and in Ospedale Sant’Orsola Fatebenefratelli, Brescia, Italy (2006 – 2009)
Currently serves as a senior consultant in interventional cardiology, congenital and structural heart diseases at Centro Cardiologico Monzino, IRCCS High School of Medicine, University of Milan (Italy). Member of the Society for Cardiological Interventions and Angiography SCAI) and the European Society of Cardiology ESC). Honorary Member of the Venezuelan Society of Interventional Cardiology ( Sociedad Venezolana de Cardiologia Intervencionista) and the Russian Scientific Society of Endovascular Surgeons and Interventional Radiologists. He is the author of publications on interventional cardiology, published in Stroke, Journal American College of Cardiology, Catheter Cardiovasc Interv, Eur Heart J и EuroIntervention. Is also the author of 9 book chapters; has served as an independent expert for publications such as International Journal of Cardiology, American Journal of Cardiology, Journal of Cardiovascular Medicine, Catheterization и Cardiovascular Interventions.
Fluent in Spanish, English, and French.
C 2011 has been overseeing cardiovascular surgery for congenital heart defects in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
Participated in seven master classes on the treatment of heart defects. Under his guidance and with his assistance, more than 15 patients were operated on by BSMU staff. Introduced the method of intracardiac echocardiography in the Republic of Bashkortostan. Trained BSMU students in his master classes and lectures.
Gave lectures at the First Russian-Chinese Congress, at the Eurasian Humanistic Forum on December 10, 2015, at the Third Medical Forum-Exhibition “Health Week in the Republic of Bashkortostan “.
Participated in the development and flew in from Italy specifically for the implantation of a life-saving device for a patient with pulmonary arterial hypertension in the Republic of Belarus (Joint patent with Bashkir State Medical University RU 2 669 678 C1, METHOD OF ATRIAL SEPTOSTOMY WITH OCCLUDER IMPLANTATION IN PATIENTS WITH IDIOPATHIC PULMONARY HYPERTENSION Buzaev Igor Vyacheslavovich RU), EVSTAKHIO ONORATO IT), Plyochev Vladimir Vyacheslavovich RU)).

Is a developer of devices for endovascular surgery. One of the devices he participated in creating Occlutec PLD), is the only approved device in the world for closing paraprosthetic fistulas. Thanks to the efforts of this remarkable specialist, the device has been implemented in clinical practice in Ufa – BSMU staff were among the first five cities in Russia that have implemented this technology
