MRgFUS vs Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)

MRgFUS is no-incisions-treatment and HAS NOT the 1.2% risk of symptomatic intracranial haemorrhage as DBS, but any surgery with incisions could complicate with haemorrhage, infection, festering.

DBS is famous for bilateral treatment, but modern MRgFUS can treat both sides, too, in many individual cases
MRgFUS treament does not require implants, DBS is implantation of a stimulator and electrode.
DBS stimulator should be replaced every 37.4±17.3 months [range: 4–93 months].
DBS lead can fracture (break).
