We Can Do It Together! Breastfeeding with Illnesses in Babies and Mothers

Online Conference

2 In August 2021, we held a mini-conference,
dedicated to World Breastfeeding Week “We Can Do It Together! Breastfeeding with Illnesses in Babies and Mothers “.

Welcome Address from the General Director of the V.S. Buzaev International Medical Centre, Rezida Galimova

Opening Remarks by Rezida Galimova at the Conference on Breastfeeding

Good day, my name is Rezida Galimova, I am the director of the clinic. On August 1, World Breastfeeding Week began. Breastfeeding is deeply, physiologically ingrained in every mother. To breastfeed a child means to give them your warmth and care. As a result of this simple process, a delicate bond is formed between mother and baby, connecting them for many, many years. Ultimately, breastfeeding is economically advantageous and epidemiologically safer. Despite many positive factors, many mothers choose not to breastfeed.

And that is why this week exists, when the whole world tells mothers, young and not so young, that breastfeeding is simple and easy. It may be our main biological function. In support of mothers, we are holding a conference today where our experts will explain that it is simple and presents no problems. And if any arise, we will always be there to help you. Breastfeeding consultant Olga Vladimirovna Nodvikova will discuss the health-related challenges mothers may face that lead to reduced breast milk production.

She will explain how to manage these conditions and when it is necessary to consult a specialist. Our neurologist, Gaisina Dilbar Shavkatovna, will dispel many myths about tone disorders in infants and discuss what to do with children who have high tone, low tone, and whether there are changes in this tone and how it affects breastfeeding. Pediatrician Olesya Raisovna Zakirova will talk about how to feed infants if they are born with a heart defect. We all know that with heart defects, we observe not only structural and functional changes in the heart but also in many other organs and systems.

This is the topic of her presentation, and she will explain that it is not a contraindication or a refusal for mothers. When I became a mother, the question of whether to breastfeed or not did not arise for me. As a pediatrician, it was just natural for me. And I remember that amazing moment in my life when the baby was first placed on my breast. It’s an amazing moment. I wish every mother to experience it and remember it during the most challenging times. I wish all participants of our conference success and invite you to join it via the link on our website buzaevclinic.com Thank you so much!

For many years, we wait for some kind of magic, some gifts from the Universe, from loved ones, from those we cherish. We don’t even realize that we can give amazing gifts ourselves, like mothers to their little ones. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.
